In Wisconsin, a teacher spoke out at a public meeting of the local board of education, protesting against being forced to pay fees to a teacher's union. After a board member replied to what he said, the board was sued by the union, which charged it with an "unfair labor practice" for communicating directly about working conditions with the nonunion teacher. The Wisconsin Supreme Court agreed.
